Hello
I'm Jennifer Spangler, CMHC, and I'm passionate about helping individuals and families find healing, strength, and hope. I offer telehealth services only.
Growing up in the Colorado mountains, exploring the backcountry with my large family, instilled in me a deep love for nature and the outdoors. After high school, I moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University.
My Story
My career began as a teacher in 1990, but I soon realized I wanted to connect with students on a deeper emotional level. This led me back to BYU to earn my Master's degree in Educational Psychology. Since then, I've worked in a variety of settings with incredible people. I spent 14 years as a crisis counselor with Intermountain Health Care and ran my own practice, "Redstone Counseling," in St. George. I also served as a Clinical Director at Sunrise Residential Treatment Center, working with high-risk teen girls and their families. Additionally, I'm certified in administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive treatment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and OCD. My specialties include depression, anxiety, shame and resilience, women's issues, attachment disorders, trauma, personality disorders, mood disorders, life transitions, and end-of-life issues. I find that humor, empathy, and even sharing a meal can be powerful tools for connection. I'm constantly inspired by the courage and strength I see in individuals, and I love witnessing their journeys of healing and the discovery of hope for the lives they've always wanted. I deeply value families and believe in their capacity to grow and heal together.
I love animals, especially my Goldendoodle, Suki! I'm still an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, and simply listening to a stream or the wind. And I absolutely LOVE BYU football! College football season is almost as exciting as Christmas! I adore my four amazing kids, my son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and my 8-year-old grandson. My dream vacation would be an African safari or a month in a lakeside cabin with a hundred good books…and my dog, of course.
