Hello
I'm Jennifer James, LCSW, and I'm passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges and find healing. While I'm not currently accepting new clients, I'd like to share a bit about my background and expertise.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, published author, and motivational speaker, I've dedicated my career to supporting others on their paths to well-being. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Utah, where I received the Blanche Scocroft Willie academic scholarship.
My Story
My own experiences, including navigating divorce after a 20-year temple marriage, have given me a unique understanding of life's complexities. I channeled these experiences into my books, "In Flight With Broken Wings" and "Latter-day Divorce and Beyond: Surviving Singlehood," which have helped thousands heal from the trauma of divorce, particularly within the LDS culture. I've also had the privilege of speaking at numerous singles conferences, firesides, and women's conferences across the US, engaging audiences in discussions about singles issues and healing. I've been featured on radio, TV, and in print, including a recent appearance on the PBS series "Utah Conversations with Ted Capener." In this interview, we highlighted the challenges of being single and divorced in the LDS Church and advocated for greater understanding and support for this community. I'm a strong believer in pre-marriage relationship education and counseling and have served as an advisor to online dating sites and written dating articles for LDSSingles.com. Currently, I'm working on two more books about relationships: "Rules of Remarriage" and "The Seven Deadly Enemies of Relationship." My clinical specialties include anxiety/depression, addiction, bipolar management, couples counseling, gender dysphoria/identification (LGBTQ), divorce/singles issues, grief, and spirituality issues.
In my personal life, I'm a professional singer, play guitar and piano, perform with my daughters, enjoy writing and motivational speaking, play racquetball, ride horses, explore genealogy, dabble in interior design, and most importantly, cherish time with my amazing family and friends.
