Hello
I'm Emily Putnam, PhD, and I'm passionate about helping individuals and families live richer, fuller lives.
As a psychologist, I believe that you hold the solutions to your own concerns and the power to reach your greatest potential. I see my work as a collaborative journey, and I look forward to partnering with each of my clients. While I'm not currently accepting new clients, I'd like to share a bit about my background and approach.
My Story
Over the years, I've worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and not-so-young adults, addressing a range of concerns, problem behaviors, and disorders. I have a particular expertise in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. I also truly enjoy working with couples as they navigate challenges in their relationships and find ways to improve communication and reconnect. When I'm not at the office, I teach undergraduate classes at SLCC and enjoy adventures with my two children and our energetic dogs. We love camping, hiking, playing at the park, and visiting museums (the dogs stay home for that last one!). For my own "me time," I find cooking, crocheting, and spending time in nature to be relaxing and restorative.
